AZ STAR Our View: Declare freedom from electronic tethers

It looks like someone at the AZ Star was inspired a little too much by WALL-E. I get the idea that maybe we could all reconnect if we put down all of the electronic devices, sat around the camp fire, roasted marshmallows and talked about the new world in the wake of the pending "Global Warming" disaster, yeah I get that. Sure that may seem great in the fantasy world that liberals so desperately wish they lived in. But the reality is that one day away from your electronics will do nothing to help everyone around you or more importantly yourself. Why, you ask? Because once that day is over we just plug back in for the other 6 days. I also like how the paper feels that the money we save should go to a charity? If you do indeed save any money, which is doubtful since you just have to make up for the lost day of emails and texting, what is so wrong with using that money for yourself or your family? In the liberal fantasy land your hard efforts should mostly be used for the common good of your fellow man. How dare someone do something for themselves. I love the line in the article that if you do this you will make "Everyone feel better". "Feel" is actually the best word to describe what the paper is trying to accomplish here - it feels good, so do it. The truth is that we all should be doing a better job of communicating with each other everyday, and that doesn't mean you turn off your electronic devices, you learn to work with them and not sacrifice the quality time too. I have seen people who are addicted to their blackberry or texting or internet. Those people need to find the balance. Taking a day off their addictions will solve nothing. To people like the editorial staff at the AZ Star it's everyone and everything else's fault that you are are the way you are. They blame the technology for your/their inability to communicate with friends and family. The bottom line here is that those that wrote the article are the ones looking for the excuse. They don't want to look inward and say, "maybe I am the one who should be regulating my cell phone use." So instead they justify their own lack of personal responsibility by blaming anyone but themselves. All this is is "Earth Hour" part 2 and is solves nothing.
Classrooms uprooting American heritage

The story and outrage over TUSD's Ethnic Studies program goes national because of our efforts. With this story from the Washington Times and a story in the National Review Online, more and more Americans are finding out how dangerous these anti-American propaganda programs are. On Monday we will give you all the lastest details and what you can do to stop these programs being funding by your tax dollars in our public school system.
LIVE 8AM:

Sheriff Joe Arpaio will be joining the show to talk about his new book and Arizonas fight against Illegal Immigration. Don't miss this great interview as the Jon Justice Show returns from vacation.
