WELCOME TO "WHAT IF AMERICA"
By alee @ 11:12 AM :: 705 Views :: 27 Comments ::

UPDATE 05/05: NOW THAT THE TAX REBATE STIMULUS MONEY IS ON THE WAY WHERE DOES WHAT IF AMERICA STAND? TO BE HONEST I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE THE INFORMATION FROM THE MCDC ON WHERE YOU CAN DEPOSIT FUNDS TO HELP SECURE OUR BORDER. THIS IS YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF WHY THINGS JUST DON'T GET DONE, IT JUST TAKES THE WILL AND DESIRE TO IT. NOTHING AGAINST THE MCDC, THEY ARE DOING TRULY GREAT WORK TO SECURE OUR COUNTRY. BUT IF I DON'T HAVE MEANS TO GIVE TO THOSE WHO WANT TO SECURE OUR BORDER THERE IS LITTLE ELSE I CAN DO. I WILL KEEP EVERYONE UPDATED WHEN AND IF I RECEIVE THE INFORMATION.

WHAT IF AMERICA TOOK THE TAX REBATE STIMULUS MONEY AND USED IT TO SECURE THE U.S. MEXICO BORDER?

On Monday 3/10 we had our second meeting with members of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) and Co-Founder Chris Simcox about what could be done to secure the border of US and Mexico if only they had the proper funding? I am pleased to say that we have our plan for What If America? Within the next few weeks and before for the tax rebate checks are mailed, we will be sending out the "What If America Border Security Plan". Everyone who has pledged and those that want to contribute will be given options on what they want their money to be used for. I.E. Fence, Men on the Border etc..do what our government has failed to do....Secure our Border!

How much will you pledge to secure our US Mexico Border?

Listen to all 3 hours of the 1/28/08 Jon Justice Show about "What If America?"

Listen the 1/30/08 interview with the Minuteman Co-founder Chris Simcox
Chris Simcox explains that the MMCDC has been building a fence and can build more, it just takes the funds and the will to do it.

This started on Jan 24th 2008 while I was printing the story of President Bush and Congress agreeing on a stimulus package. Being married with 2 boys I could certainly use the $1800.00 that I will be getting this summer. But then I thought "what if"? What if enough people decided to pledge some if not all their Tax Rebate money to secure the US Mexico Border? What if we sent a message back to our government that said "Since you failed to secure our border, we will do it for you". It would take a one time cost of roughly 3 billion dollars to put the entire fence up. Our government is going to hand the tax payers 150 Billion! A fraction of that could save us billions in Illegal Immigration costs for years to come.

Now how do we do it? Plans are currently being drafted by non-profit NON GOVERNMENT organizations on ideas of various ways we could secure our nations US MEXICO Border given the right funding. With this kind of money we have lots of options. Groups like the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps have already done tremendous work making our nation safer. We could create jobs for people to go and secure our border, put up fencing, vehicle barricades, man power etc. Why use this money to buy products from overseas, when we could create jobs and secure the country at the same time? If enough people pledged enough money what would our own government do? What would the candidates do? If the people of america took the border security in their own hands the problem could no longer be ingnored.

One major point of concern is the obvious "How do we avoid any fraud'? I believe that the only way is to create a plan for complete transparency. Setting up a single fund for the money to be placed. Then we will present a plan showing exactly what and where the money will go to those who have made the pledge. At this point the door is open for ideas.

How much would you pledge of your government tax rebate to secure the US Mexico Border? This is only a pledge to help, nothing more, nothing binding.Email WhatIfAmerica@gmail.com

We have 6 months to spread the word and find out potentially how many people and how much money we could gather together.

It starts with the actions of very few to make a difference. This is what made our country great. The government is ready to send the people of america a 150 billion dollar blank check. What if the people of these United States used that money to TAKE THE COUNTRY BACK!?

Copy and send this link to as many people as you can:
www.WhatIfAmerica.com

Spread the word!

Expanding the approved 370 miles of border fence by 1,630 miles at a cost of $2.5 billion would seal the border completely for a one-time cost. Total fencing 1969 miles. All information below are estimates based off of the 2006 US census and various other sources.

One time cost total of between 2.5 and 3 billion to build the whole fence.

1969 miles of fence at a cost of 1.5 million per mile

131 million taxpayers who will recieve money from Government this year in rebates =150 billion

Total cost for each taypayer for a one time cost to build fence = $22.00 Yes only 20 bucks!

Polls show 70% of american public what to see our border secure = 92 million want border fence

Total cost per person for the 92 million who want the fence = $32.00

ARIZONA
5.5 million AZ taxpayers

Total cost for entire U.S. fence per AZ taxpayer $571.00

Total AZ Mexico border miles= 389

Total cost per AZ tax payer to put up 389 miles of AZ mexico fence =$105.00

Total cost per year for tax payers in Arizona because of Illegal Immigrants 1.3 Billion.

My family is expecting to get $1800.00 from the government in Tax Rebates. I pleage all of it to secure this great countries border.

Use this space to talk about the idea and the best ways to use this money to secure the US Mexico border.

Remember to email WhatIfAmerica@gmail.com and let us know how much you would be willing to put towards border security.

I sent the information and link to my blogrolls and patriot groups--hopefully you'll get some blogosphere coverage from it.

By Cheryl @ Monday, January 28, 2008 9:02 AM
I would be willing to pledge some if not all of the money I recieve. It doesn't stop there for me though. I would be willing to pledge my time to do whatever is needed of me to get this mission off the ground!

By Steele @ Monday, January 28, 2008 9:21 AM
I'd be proud to donate my share of the rebate money, I'd even offer my help building the fence.

Either part of the problem of part of the solution.

The reason for the economic stimulus package is that America needs to get out of this "hole" we're in. Building a fence won't make the credit card bills go away immediately. Yes, it has long-term benefits, no doubt about it -- BUT, that isn't what's foremost in Americans' minds.
Getting caught up on bills (or if already caught up) then getting that big screen TV is what they want. Look at the polls by CNN, etc. they show what the people are thinking about spending the money on and it ain't border security! There's a Presidential election coming up in a few months, shouldn't we give that person a chance to fix this?
The fence brings up the topic of monitoring the fence. Illegals have shown great creativity in circumventing the USA's attempts to slow their progress into our country. The original post touts the "one-time cost" as if the fence would solve all the problems being faced at the border. Wake up people, the coyotes would be out there cutting a truck-sized hole before the concrete dried! It will be an on-going expense to maintain, monitor, and protect (when needed) the fence.
I apologize for the long paragraphs; for some reason my Insert key died and I had to edit on-the-fly. I'm not AGAINST the fence per say, I just think we need more real-world estimates instead of this "one-time cost" fantasy-talk.

I will be glad to give all of my rebate to help

By Lisa Kaimer @ Monday, January 28, 2008 9:29 AM
I will pledge my rebate. If I do not receive one, I will pledge $300.

By Larry Schick @ Monday, January 28, 2008 10:03 AM
Since I am recieving Social Security I probably won't receive any of the pay but I would contribute $50 of $100 to get the fence.

By Calvin @ Monday, January 28, 2008 10:07 AM
I will give half of my amount to the fence. I love the idea of throwing it back in the face of the government. I want to make sure my money does not go back to the government because I know they will end up passing it out the the people we are trying to stop from coming in. Great Job Jon.

By Megan McConnaughey @ Monday, January 28, 2008 10:22 AM
I would give all my rebate plus some! Love your show!

By Mike Wilford @ Monday, January 28, 2008 10:55 AM
I think this program initiative has merit and should move forward. What I've noticed is that a lot of people are focused solely on the fence... that is just one facet of the entire issue of border security. My suggestion would be to set this up as a 501 c3, then all donations reagrdless of the source are tax deductible. I would then set it up so people had a menu to choose from as to where they'd like their donations to go. With a project like this, there will be opposition from groups like La Raza MECHA, and some of the other pro illegal immigration organizations. Setting up portions of the money to retain attorneys, file briefs as a friend of the court, etc... would be smart. Additionally, there will be a need to educate those who are still unclear or undecided about the problem of illegal immigration. If this project is correctly organized, administered, and monitored for absolute integrity, it could be a benchmark for the nation.

By Lance Altherr @ Monday, January 28, 2008 11:00 AM
Jon, My family will be donating all of our rebate to this! What a great idea.

This is typical ELPresidente Bush, give away money, and dont address the problem. Why cant he say the tax rebate is only going to be 147 million, and then use the other 3 million to build the fence?

By John @ Monday, January 28, 2008 12:52 PM
I think this is a great idea. My family pretty much lives paycheck to paycheck, but I would gladly give $100 to the cause. I want Washington to see just how serious we are about this subject. All at once, we are able to say "We are sick of being ignored" and "Thanks for the money, now we can protect our border since you are obviously incapable of performing such an important task." Oh, and you just have to love the irony!! :)

By Lori Sue Rummens @ Monday, January 28, 2008 5:19 PM
I support securing the border...whether we fund the fence...or more people...whatever it takes

By John Foster @ Tuesday, January 29, 2008 12:48 AM
Jon, I think this is a brilliant idea. I have sent this link to as many people as I could. You have certainly come up with a unique aproach and fresh idea as to how to move forward with. Certainly I would love to buy a big screen TV, but I would rather secure our border and make it much more difficult for drug traffickers, illegal aliens and any other unsavory types that would wish to enter our country illegally. Let us remember what an immigrant is, my grandfather was an immigrant. He entered this country at Ellis Island, filled out the proper paperwork, waited in long lines, paid fees and was even given tests. My wife is an immigrant from Mexico, she came here on a work visa with a passport. The people that sneak into this country and circumvent our laws are tresspassers and criminals, not undocumented immigrants. My wife and I have discussed this and would gladly give our check to secure the border. May God bless you.

I am on SEVERAL major blogrolls (as well as having my own blogsite). Not only would I donate whatever I get (if anything), but I would donate the equivalent if I DON'T get anything (if most people like me got $300 and I didn't, I'd still donate $300).

I published this on my blog and asked not just MY blogroll members but members of all the blogrolls I'm on to spread the word as well--and they are kindly doing it. Absolutely everyone I've sent here is asking where do I sign up and I LOVE the idea...

One group/blogroll I'm on is Coalition Against Illegal Immigration and it's being POSTED there as well.

You're on to something Jon...let's get this going.

To get the word out even more, I'm going to cut and paste your article into my groups and a post on my site, with a link back here as well.

I pledge my entire rebate for the fence project.
I'll also donate live ammunition and a week of my vacation to stop the coyotes from cutting holes in the fence too. And so will a bunch of my friends.

I would be willing to donate part of my rebate, but is this going to stop a recession? My guess would be no. At least some if not most needs to go back into the economy!

By Jon Justice @ Wednesday, January 30, 2008 3:46 PM
"but is this going to stop a recession? My guess would be no. At least some if not most needs to go back into the economy!"

I don't believe we are heading for a "recession". It's an economy slow down that isn't nearly as bad as what this country has seen in the past. With that said, the recent polls (for what they are worth) show that only about 16% of the proposed 150 Billion would even end up back into the economy and when you factor in goods that are not even made in the US that will be purchased that 16% shrinks even more. We will climb out of this "coming recession" with or without the Stimulus Package. Here in AZ we spend 1.3 Billion tax payer dollars a year on Illegal Aliens. "What If America" is not the answer to solving the Illegal Immigration problem, but it is a way for normal people to do something extraordinary. Not only making a real difference in our border security, but also showing that we are still a great country where if people just have the will they don't need the government.

Sending your tax rebate to build the Minuteman Fence is a doube hit. It builds the fence and the money goes to American business to buy materials and labor and therefore creates an economic stimulus.

By Pat Carmichael @ Friday, February 01, 2008 4:24 PM
I will donate half of what I get back. I am doing other things as well. I opened a room on Paltalk.com to promote this as well as "What if America" web site. They are spreading the word across the U.S.. We will continue until the wall is built, (nothing like an on fire Paltalkian to stir things up...lol). I have sent emails and post's out to every blog, forum, bulletin board and web site in my list's, and there are 1000's of them and thousands more beyond that! Thank you JJ for this idea and I hope we can make it happen.

Respond to this message and let me know. (would have to be a weekend).

Jon,
With Obama clearly stating that he would reverse the present policy I do not see any other way than your 'What if America' plan. I have no doubt that American's upon the realization that our government will continue to do nothing to secure our border will contribute what they can to make sure we do secure it.

U.S. chamber decries Arizona law on illegal workers
Arizona Daily Star
Tucson, Arizona Published: 08.08.2007

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today joined Arizona business leaders in challenging the constitutionality of a new state law that regulates the employment of illegal workers.

By MANUELA CASTRO @ Wednesday, March 05, 2008 1:52 PM
You Know I don't understand why some people act like if illegal immigrants are monsters!!!! Yes they come here illegally but these people who you want to stop from coming to this country are people who help the united states economy. They work in conditions that most americans wouldn't ever and for very little pay. People also say that illegals are costing taxpayers money, and what about the illegals who work. Who get taxes taken out of their check. Money that is never returned to them at tax time. Supposedly tax money is used for the education, for the roads, for the people, and for other things in this country. Really what would america do with absolutely no immigrants? What!!!!

In response to the last post.....

What If 20 Million Illegal Aliens Left America?
By Frosty Wooldridge 10-29-7

Tina Griego, journalist for the Denver Rocky Mountain News wrote a column titled, "Mexican visitor's lament" -- 10/25/07.

She interviewed Mexican journalist Evangelina Hernandez while visiting Denver last week. Hernandez said,

"They (illegal aliens) pay rent, buy groceries, buy clothes...what happens to your country's economy if 20 million people go away?"

That's a good question it deserves an answer. Over 80 percent of Americans demand secured borders and illegal migration stopped. But what would happen if all 20 million or more vacated America? The answers may surprise you!

In California, if 3.5 million illegal aliens moved back to Mexico, it would leave an extra $10.2 billion to spend on overloaded school systems, bankrupted hospitals and overrun prisons. It would leave highways cleaner, safer and less congested. Everyone could understand one another as English became the dominate language again.
In Colorado, 500,000 illegal migrants, plus their 300,000 kids and grand-kids would move back "home," mostly to Mexico. That would save Coloradans an estimated $2 billion (other experts say $7 BIL) annually in taxes that pay for schooling, medical, social-services and incarceration costs. It means 12,000 gang members would vanish out of Denver alone.
Colorado would save more than $20 million in prison costs, and the terror that those 7,300 alien criminals set upon local citizens. Denver Officer Don Young and hundreds of Colorado victims would not have suffered death, accidents, rapes and other crimes by illegals.
Denver Public Schools would not suffer a 67 percent drop out/flunk out rate via thousands of illegal alien students speaking 41 different languages. At least 200,000 vehicles would vanish from our gridlocked cities in Colorado. Denver's four percent unemployment rate would vanish as our working poor would gain jobs at a living wage.
In Florida, 1.5 million illegals would return the Sunshine State back to America, the rule of law and English.
In Chicago, Illinois, 2.1 million illegals would free up hospitals, schools, prisons and highways for a safer, cleaner and more crime-free experience.

If 20 million illegal aliens returned "home" --

If 20 million illegal aliens returned "home," the U.S. economy would return to the rule of law. Employers would hire legal American citizens at a living wage. Everyone would pay their fair share of taxes because they wouldn't be working off the books. That would result in an additional $401 billion in IRS income taxes collected annually, and an equal amount for local state and city coffers.

No more push '1' for Spanish or '2' for English. No more confusion in American schools that now must content with over 100 languages that degrade the educational system for American kids. Our overcrowded schools would lose more than two million illegal alien kids at a cost of billions in ESL and free breakfasts and lunches.

We would lose 500,000 illegal criminal alien inmates at a cost of more than $1.6 billion annually. That includes 15,000 MS-13 gang members who distribute $130 billion in drugs annually would vacate our country. In cities like L.A., 20,000 members of the "18th Street Gang" would vanish from our nation. No more Mexican forgery gangs for ID theft from Americans! No more foreign rapists and child molesters!

Losing more than 20 million people would clear up our crowded highways and gridlock. Cleaner air and less drinking and driving American deaths by illegal aliens!

Drain on America's economy; taxpayers harmed, employers get rich

Over $80 billion annually wouldn't return to their home countries by cash transfers. Illegal migrants earned half that money untaxed, which further drains America's economy which currently suffers an $8.7 trillion debt.

At least 400,000 anchor babies would not be born in our country, costing us $109 billion per year per cycle. At least 86 hospitals in California, Georgia and Florida would still be operating instead of being bankrupted out of existence because illegals pay nothing via the EMTOLA Act. Americans wouldn't suffer thousands of TB and hepatitis cases rampant in our country-brought in by illegals unscreened at our borders.

Our cities would see 20 million less people driving, polluting and grid locking our cities. It would also put the "progressives" on the horns of a dilemma; illegal aliens and their families cause 11 percent of our greenhouse gases.

Over one million of Mexico's poorest citizens now live inside and along our border from Brownsville, Texas to San Diego, California in what the New York Times called, "colonias" or new neighborhoods. Trouble is, those living areas resemble Bombay and Calcutta where grinding poverty, filth, diseases, drugs, crimes, no sanitation and worse. They live without sewage, clean water, streets, electricity, roads or any kind of sanitation. The New York Times reported them to be America's new "Third World" inside our own country. Within 20 years, at their current growth rate, they expect 20 million residents of those colonias. (I've seen them personally in Texas and Arizona; it's sickening beyond anything you can imagine.) By enforcing our laws, we could repatriate them back to Mexico.

High integrity, ethical invitation

We invite 20 million aliens to go home, fix their own countries and/or make a better life in Mexico. We invite a million people into our country legally more than all other countries combined annually. We cannot and must not allow anarchy at our borders, more anarchy within our borders and growing lawlessness at every level in our nation.

It's time to stand up for our country, our culture, our civilization and our way of life.
