First winter storm of the season moving into Southern Arizona

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Wind and blowing dust will be the main concern through Friday.  A Wind Advisory is posted for Cochise county and all the mountains of southern Arizona through Friday night. Wind will blow from the west southwest up to 30 mph with gusts near 45 mph. This could make travel on the roads difficult.

Scattered showers and some storms will pick up again Friday night through Saturday morning. This rain will change to snow above 6000 feet bringing up to 3 inches of snow to area mountain ranges.

Temps will drop significantly this weekend with highs in Tucson near 60 degrees.

First widespread freeze of the season expected Sunday night and Monday morning for south central Pima, Santa Cruz, Graham and Greenlee counties.
