TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - One person is dead and another is injured after a rollover crash that occurred on east Valencia Road Friday morning.
Sgt. Chris Widmer with Tucson Police tells KGUN9 that William Brownlee, 75, died Friday when his Jeep Cherokee flipped over.
The collision happened in the 6000 block of east Valencia Road just before 12:00 p.m. Friday.
Widmer says a Honda Accord was driving westbound in the right-hand lane just before the accident. The driver of the sedan tried to merge into the left lane and struck Brownlee that was in the left lane, also headed westbound.
Brownlee struck the curb and rolled his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger of the Jeep Cherokee was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Honda was not injured.
Widmer says drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the collision and no citations have been issued at this time.
