Police finally able to make arrest in murder of 16-year-old

Homicide detectives originally obtained an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Ashley Marie Antone on Thursday, May 31, two days after the death of 16-year-old Kaitlin Chico, but initial charges were dropped pending further investigation.

Hawke says witnesses reported that it appeared people inside the vehicle were engaged in a physical altercation while driving near the intersection.

An officer in the area located a vehicle matching the witnesses’ original description, a blue, 2011 Ford Focus, leaving a residential neighborhood. The officer followed the vehicle until it came to a stop in a commercial parking lot.
The officer then witnessed two occupants, a man and a woman, run from the vehicle.
According to Hawke, the woman that ran from the vehicle, Antone, was located and apprehended on the property of the Embassy Suites Hotel, which is adjacent to the parking lot where the vehicle had come to a stop.
As officers were searching for the man who ran from the vehicle, they located 16-year-old Kaitlin Chico, who was suffering from obvious signs of trauma, in the 5400 block of
The man seen fleeing the scene, 20-year-old Emannuel Rivera, was located the following day but he was not arrested or charged with a crime related to Chico’s death at this time.
