TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson firefighters responded to a house fire and found that an abandoned house had been intentionally set ablaze.
Crews responded to the house fire around 7:00 p.m. Saturday after multiple calls were made to 9-1-1 to report large flames coming from the home, according to Capt. Jeff Langejans with the Tucson Fire Department.
Once on scene, crews noticed that the home was vacant and boarded up, making access to the home difficult.
Langejans tells KGUN9 that the fire originated in an enclosed porch and was stopped before it could get into the main area of the house.
There were signs of vandalism and investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set, Langejans said.
Crews put out the flames in about 11 minutes and no injuries were reported. The house was turned over to the building safety inspector.
Langejans said damages were estimated at $20,000.
