TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - If you waited last minute to buy your holiday gifts, you're not alone.

On Sunday, Park Place Mall was packed with thousands of shoppers who squeezed in some last minute shopping.

Joshua Casnave was one of those shoppers.

"Hopefully find a gift for my wife because I never know what to get her at the last minute --as always wait untill the last minute for some reason," he said.

And he's not the only one, according to Consumer Reports, about 17 million people still have gifts left on their list to check off.

"We got colds, so we're just trying to do everything last minute," said one mother at the mall.

But for some local businesses like 'Game Daze', it's a time of year they've been waiting for.

"That's my job is to get them (employees) ready to go, because it's not that terribly busy until the weekend before Christmas and then all of a sudden they drop at the deep end of the pool," he said.

For other stores like 'Fast Fix Jewelry Repairs, it's a time to shine.
"A lot of people don't see us, so it's a lot of advertising that comes in for us," said Roland Widman, the store manager.

And for some shoppers, it's a learning experience.

"Probably plan earlier, do a little bit of shopping, we always say that, but we never do," said another shopper.
