Band of burglars who stole from Mt. Lemmon home caught

PIMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The Pima County Sheriff's Department responded to a 9-1-1 call about a break-in around 1:30 p.m., Jan. 13.
The caller observed several individuals running from a residence in the 11300 block of East Bisbee Avenue on Mount Lemmon. Upon arrival on scene, deputies found obvious signs that the home had been burglarized.Other deputies were advised of the situation on the mountain.
In a news release, Deputy Tom Peine said that a deputy at the base of Mount Lemmon observed a suspicious passenger car with several male individuals inside drive by. The deputy conducted a traffic stop, which revealed items missing from the burglarized residence on the mountain.
Detectives with the Sheriff's Burglary Unit took over the investigation and found more evidence at the scene that further tied the male occupants to the crime. Investigators also found marijuana in the vehicle and determined that the driver had been driving under the influence. Two of the vehicle's occupants were juveniles.
The two male juveniles, 15 and 17 years of age, were both arrested on charges of 2nd Degree Burglary. In addition to the two juveniles, the other three occupants of the vehicle were also arrested.
All of the suspects were booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center and Pima County Juvenile Detention Center respectively.
The investigation is ongoing.
