TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A few light sprinkles or showers are possible across Pima, Santa Cruz, and southern Pinal counties Thursday afternoon.
Rain chances will increase Friday, and become more widespread across southern Arizona Friday night into Saturday.
This first system will be confined mainly to north of Tucson by Saturday night and Sunday. Rainfall amounts from this system are expected to range from one quarter of an inch to three quarters of an inch. But only minimal snow accumulations are forecast for the higher mountain peaks.
A second, much colder, system will move into the area early next week. This system has the potential to produce heavier snowfall, with levels dropping to 6500 feet by midday Monday, then as low as 4000 feet by midday Tuesday.
Dry conditions will return to the area by the middle of next week.
