Daveed Gartenstien Ross, Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies calls in.
He disagrees with Jon Justice on classifying the recent release of emails showing the White House had knowledge of attacks in Benghazi, is not politically important. He explains and gives examples that it is being viewed now as political because of the time of the incidence happend so close to an election period. He proposes there will be more questions opening up from the discovery of the emails.
Jon plays audio of Obama stating he would not use this information for political purposes, however, he has used these acts as political campaign leverage. Justice plays additional audio and cites examples in Obama's speeches.
Caller calls in with questions for Daveed
Was it a cover up?
Was it used for political purposes?
Why did they delay?
Daveed takes calls from our listeners voicing their disbelief with how he appears to sound as if he is trivializing the importance. Some have mentioned that if Daveed is correct, it still makes Obama sound incompetent. Daveed proposes questions of what could have been questions going on in the minds of the administration as it was happening. Callers feel Obama's response was a cover up.
He explains why he feels this way.
