Layla Tang

Layla Tang joined the 104-1 The Truth team in November 2010 to anchor KGUN9 On Your Side headlines on the Jon Justice Morning Show.  Layla has an extensive background in both radio and television, so she considers this the perfect place to work.
An Alabama native, Layla attended Auburn University, earning a degree in mass communications with a minor in political science.  Her big break in radio came at Mix 96.7 in Auburn, where she hosted the midday show for nearly four years.  She got her start in TV at WSFA-12 in Montgomery, Alabama as a producer, and later worked as a reporter, producer, and fill-in anchor at WTVM-9 in Columbus, Georgia.  She met her husband on the job, while covering a tornado that hit the city in 2007.
Layla spent the last three years in Washington State working as a radio DJ in the Olympia area.  After living in a place where it rains 200 days a year, she’s enjoying Arizona’s abundant sunshine!
Layla lives with her husband, Ricky, a US Army Captain, and their black lab, Mitch. Their dream is to watch a baseball game in all 30 Major League ballparks.  So far, they are halfway to their goal.
