Our thoughts and prayers go out to Agent Terry’s family, friends and the Border Patrol for their loss.

Update on U.S. Border Patrol Agent Killed in Line of Duty

TUCSON, Ariz. – Last night, Border Patrol Agent Brian A. Terry was shot and killed after he encountered several suspects near Rio Rico, Ariz. At least four suspects are in custody while one is still being pursued. Agent Terry’s murder is a tragic reminder of the ever-present dangers U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, Air & Marine officers and Border Patrol agents face as they protect our Nation’s borders.

Agent Terry was a native of Detroit, Michigan, and is survived by his parents, a brother and two sisters. He was 40 years old.

Agent Terry was held in the highest esteem by his peers and served more than three years in the United States Border Patrol. As a section leader in the Border Patrol Academy, he exemplified the qualities of a Border Patrol Agent.

Agent Terry had a proud history of serving his country as he also served three years in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1994.

The incident investigation is being led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.

U.S Customs and Border Protection will continue to be resolute in our commitment to securing our Nation’s borders while remembering all of the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Authorities urge anyone who sees anything suspicious in the area to report it immediately to our toll free number 1-877-872-7435.  All calls will be answered and will remain anonymous.

Border Patrol Agent Brian A. Terry Killed Near Nogales

This is one more example of the sacrifices made by front-line agents, and it’s a major reason we are continually outraged by activists and self-serving politicians in Washington DC who sell us out with incessant talk about "amnesty" for illegal aliens. While they play games, our country continues to be invaded and Border Patrol agents continue to pay the price. Please don’t let Agent Terry’s death be in vain. Call your local politicians and tell them to fight amnesty and to support border security.

Bob Walkup’s Top Ten other proclamations:

Mayor Bob Walkup, stated that downtown Tucson is the “hottest entertainment spot in the country.”  Here are the top ten "other proclamations".

10)    Rio Nuevo was a complete success and it will serve as a model for downtown revitalization projects for the next century.

9)      The Modern Streetcar will never be covered in graffiti

8)      The Arizona Wildcats do not need “point after touchdown” conversions to win football games

7)      Tucson’s abundant lightning will refuel electric cars while they drive

6)      Rodney Glassman takes clear positions on all issues and always answers questions in a forthright manner

5)      Jon Justice will only dwell on my “hottest entertainment in the country spot” for one or two minutes and then move on without making fun of me.

4)      Tucson roadways are the smoothest, widest, most well maintained streets in any city large or small.

3)      Che Guevara  was a good man and doesn’t deserve the bad rap he’s gotten.

2)      At City Hall we call Four Loko “Blackout in a Council meeting”.

And Mayor Bob Walkup’s number one other proclamation:

1)      My pants are rarely dry!
